The Best Golf Courses in Dublin

Here at Dualway, we do several different things. And in recent years we have been providing transport for golf tours and golfing days out all around Ireland!

We have been all over the country and visited some of the country’s finest courses. So today, we have decided to put pen to paper, so to speak, and name some of the best golf courses Dublin has to offer.

This list may cause some controversy, but sometimes you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelette. So here we go…

Saint Margaret's Golf Club

A great picture of Saint Margarets Golf Club, one of Dublin's best golf courses

Having played this course myself, I might be biased in saying that it is one of the best courses Dublin has to offer! Located between Tyrllstwon and Kilbrook, Saint Margaret’s Golf & Country Club has a course designed by the legendary Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock. This 18-hole championship golf course is always in pristine condition. Aside from a challenging 18-holes on offer, Saint Matharet’s boasts beautifully tree-lined fairways, perfectly manicured greens and wonderful water features, which have to be seen to be believed.

Portmarnock Golf Club

A look at Portmarnock Golf Club, one of Dublin's more exclusive golf courses and possible the best in Dublin

No list of the best golf courses in Dublin would be complete if it did not include Portmarnock Golf Club. Just look at it! Situated along 10 miles of picturesque coastline,  I still can not believe that Portmarnock Golf Club is only a 15-minute drive from Dublin Airport.  According to their website, no other Irish course has been graced by so many distinguished players in a rich history encompassing a broad sweep of significant events. Some famous names that have played here include Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead, Phil Mickelson, and David Duval. And it has been home to a total of 19 stagings of the European Tour’s Irish Open Championship.

As you can imagine, 18-holes on a course such as this comes at a price, but one can dream!

Corballis Golf Club

A overview picture of Corballis golf club, one of Dublin's hardest golf courses

Corballis will divide opinion, but you can not argue that this course maintains excellent standards. Open all year round; this course was partly redesigned in 2007 by Ron Kirby with four new holes along the coast that are unbelievable. Located in Donabate, this course sounds easy with a par of 66, but believe me when I tell you that the Corballis Golf Course has to be respected if you want to do well. Rumour has it that some pro players play Corballis’ golf course as a warm-up to a UK Open.

Luttrellstown Golf Course

Luttrellstown Golf Course one of Dublin's best and most affordable high end golf courses

Luttrellstwon golf course is just twenty minutes from Dublin airport, set on 567 acres of lush private parkland, this championship golf course is certainly in the top tier of global golfing destinations. With every detail carefully designed by Donald Steel and Tom MacKenzie, the 18-hole championship Golf Course at Luttrellstown Castle Resort is 7,347 naturally-contoured yards of mature parklands, links-style bunkers and water hazards, all of which are set within the walls of a centuries-old private estate.

Luttrellstown is also home to a 5-bay indoor and 25-bay outdoor driving range, chipping area, 9-hole putting green and a 3-hole short course. With green fees from €50, it has to be one of Dublin’s most affordable high-end courses out there!
